Grammar

Recruit = persuade? etc.

"4minute's Nam Ji Hyun *plays the role of cute and preppy ‘Shin Sun Hae' in SBS's drama "It's Okay, Daddy's Daughter." **She recently recruited her fellow 4minute members to sing the track titled "One Thing" for the OST (soundtrack) and the track was just released on ***the various Korean Music portals."

*Does the reason why the present tense is chosen there is that playing the role is a habitual action(the drama is on the air at present and hasn't been concluded yet)?

**Can you paraphrase the red sentence as She recently persuaded her fellow 4minute members to sing the track titled “One Thing” for the OST? Or are there any differences of nuance between the two verbs?

***Although various Korean Music portals isn't already mentioned, the noun is connected to a definite article. Why is that?

Hi,
Yes, if that's the way you are thinkoing about it.

If you are not thinking about it that way, there's nothing wrong with omitting 'the' and simply saying "the track was just released on various Korean Music portals."
