Vocabulary

reconcile vs have a reconciliation

1. He was reconciled with her
2. He had a reconsiliation with her.

Q) Are #1 and #2 the same? They have the same meaning but that's just the different way of saying, right? If so, is there a good context for each example?

Top answer

They do have the same meaning, but #1 is the usual. #2 somehow conveys the feeling to me that the attempted reconciliation (note spelling) may not have been not successful.
