To whom it may concern:
As a senior professor of the Department of Information Technology at ****, which is one of the top engineering colleges of our state, I categorically recommend ****, an excellent student of our department, for admission and assistantship in your graduate school. I have known Mr. *** for the past two years, both as a professor and a mentor, during which, I taught him such courses as Image processing and Computer Graphics. And, with that experience, I can confidently assert that his qualities make him an outstanding student with a strong potential for research.
Since the beginning of our collaboration I know Mr. *** as an intelligent and diligent student. He has superior grades in all of his courses and a top performance, particularly, in my classes, which demand a lot of logical and analytical thinking. He is also a creative problem solver. He would solve problems based on wavelet transforms at great speeds, and was always the first in the class, to hand in the problem sets. Also, he takes an active part in classroom discussions. He grasps new concepts quickly and never relents till he completely understands the matter presented. In respect of his broad range of skills, I rank him in the top 3% of his class.
His greatest talent is developing innovations for new academic projects. However, he does not implement them all. But, with the right kind of facilities and guidance, I feel this shortcoming would be rectified in no time. He did many of his academic projects under my mentorship, during which, my interaction with him insinuated his growing curiosity and interest to come up with new things. And, I guess, these qualities, when complemented with a conducive milieu for research, could unlock his research potential.
Based on the foregoing, I give Mr. *** the highest recommendation for his graduate studies at your university. He is ready for an academic and research oriented study. He has proven himself to have the perseverance and initiative, and the intellectual bent of mind necessary to successfully complete a graduate degree from a top university.
If I may provide you with any further information in your consideration of Mr. ***, please feel free to contact me.
