Recommendation Letter Editing and Proof Reading

Dear Editors

As a part of my application requirement for the admission to the Master’s Program (majoring in Image Processing) I need to submit a recommendation letter that is to be issued by my professor. When I asked my prof to give me a recommendation letter, he suggested me to write it by myself. But i seriously don't know how to write a well formatted professional recommendation letter that too about myself. Anyways with a lot of efforts I managed to draft the below letter.

I think there a lot of issues with my letter. I've been struggling a lot with some sentences, Especially the lines which are in bold seem to be overloaded and vague. Please, scan my text and say, if it is fluent and clear for you or not. Kindly make it better in terms of sentence organization, grammar by removing any unnecessary details.

All suggestions for improvement are welcomed!, Please provide me the genuine feedback weather it looks best,average or worst. So that i can make it better by rewriting(this is my first draft), Since this letter is very important for my admissions.

PS: The overall aim of this Letter is to convey some of my good abilities like Intellectual and analytical abilities, Active in classes, Independent Learning skills, Research abilities (The two projects that i have mentioned in the 3rd paragraph need to be highlighted)

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

I am very pleased to write this letter in favor of Mr. XXX who is aspiring to pursue his graduate studies in your esteemed institution. As assistant professor of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, I have noticed him for the last three years, instructing the courses in the area of Signal and Imaging Processing (both theory, laboratory sessions) and also mentored him in two of his academic projects; this gave me the chance to gain insight into the student’s abilities and personality. And, with this experience, I can confidently assert him as an outstanding student possessing great qualities and abilities.

Since the beginning of our collaboration XXX has showed himself as an intelligent and hardworking student, who takes a passionate interest in the chosen area. Working on a graduate project under my supervision, XXXX exhibited an excellent analytical skills and intellectual creativity. He implemented a maze solving application by applying the concepts of Morphological Image processing. He showed a lot of eagerness to learn and put into practice the principles he learnt in theory. During the course work on Digital Image Processing, He carried out a research project under my guidance on his own initiative, where he worked diligently on studying various Edge detection techniques and is successful in implementing Canny’s edge detector algorithm. While supervising his work, I observed that he had a propensity for in-depth analysis, a good understanding of the subject, and a full engagement of his intellectual faculties. I feel that this perspicacious insight into any task that he undertakes is one of his strong points. He is systematic and organized at work and has shown a predilection for research. He went beyond the required coursework to enrich himself. I have seen him improve steadily over the years as a student, always striving to excel. With respect to his broad range of skills, I rank him in the top 5% of the many students whom I have taught in the recent past years.

Not only in the academic setting, but XXX's distinction can be seen through his behavior with classmates and teachers too. He is a quite polite and friendly, showing a great capacity for integration into university life. He can express himself fluently in English and communicates very well with all people.
