Recommendable?

Seeing someone on the train try to get out surprised me.A non-native speaker made the sentence above and asked me if it is grammatically correct. I think that it is not correct in terms of logic and accuracy. I was surprised to see someone on the train try to get out OR someone on the train surprised me for her attempt to get out, that, I understand. So, I would like to recommend the following changed sentence to the non-native speaker:Seeing someone on the train try to get out made me feel surprised.Would it be ok? Thanks.

I don't understand what you mean by "get out". Do you mean that someone was trying to get off the train while it was in motion (in between stations)?
