Letter Writing

recommend someone in his ambition

Dear teachers

i am writing recommendation letter and have some examples in front of me as well.
I see this sentence " i am pleased to recommend mr/ms xxx in his/her ambition to enroll the LLM program in your university" the 'recommend someone in his ambition' i see for the first time and cant find anything on the internet regarding such a phrase

is this a correct one thats usable in formal letter like this recommendation one or is it just false?

Anonymous is this a correct one thats usable I think it's OK, but the sentence has other problems: I am pleased to recommend Mr/Ms *** in his/her ambition to enroll in the LLM program at your university.
