It is my great pleasure to recommend my student, Ms. Wu Bo, to pursue her postgraduate studies in Landscape Architecture at your distinguished university.

I first made acquaintance with Ms. Wu in 2004 when she enrolled in my course on landscape design at the Beijing Forestry University. During her participation in my class and after I left Beijing to visit at Harvard University, I have been inspired with Ms. Wu’s talent, creativity and passion for design excellence. An example of her excellence was reflected when I asked my students to design the gate of the natural park in Beijing. After seeing many similar designs, I saw Wubo’s work, which symbolized the matchbox designed in modern style. I enjoyed the originality and once again, her talent made an impression. Throughout the class, she continued to impress me with the ingenuity of her work and the speed at which she delivered impressive designs. Among all submission, her works were the most distinctive due to their originality and excellence. She also showed strong ability to master and apply fundamental theories. She studied diligently and often spoke with me after classes about readings, design trends, career options and her passion for design. She possesses an outstanding professional instinct as well. During weekly discussion sessions, Ms. Wu always presented us with intelligent ideas, which were quite inspiring and significant in the urban planning or landscape architecture field. During and after my class concluded, Ms. Wu attended every visiting alumni and special lectures in this field. The influence of these international researchers, combined with her own ambition, has led her to pursue further study.

Given all these attributes, Ms. Wu is qualified for master studies at Beijing Forestry University. However, she expressed her desire to study in a renowned overseas institution, and pursue her career in China after finishing her studies. I support her choice and highly recommend her as an ideal candidate for the excellent masters program at your University. With her personality and enthusiastic passion towards life, I trust she will excel as a member of your program and in a career in architectural landscaping works.
