Are the following sentences acceptable?(1) As soon as I saw him in the office, I recognized him and shouted his name “Michael” with excitement.(2) He was also cheerfully to call my name "Ted".

The first one is fine.

The second doesn't quite work. You could say,
He proceeded cheerfully to call my name, "Ted."
He was cheerful when he called my name, "Ted."
He was happy to call my name, "Ted."

"Cheerfully" is an adverb, and doesn't work as complement to a "being verb." The adjective "cheerful" does.

You need the comma after "name," because "Ted" is in apposition to "name."

In your first example, the same would seem to apply,
but somehow the comma doesn't seem so necessary. I may be wrong.

He called my name.

He called my name, "Ted."

He called me "Ted."

He shouted my name "Ted." ???

These are all correct, with the possible exception that the last one may need a comma.

I think "He called on my friend John" is fine without the comma.
Perhaps the difference is that I have only one name, but several friends.

I signed my name "Donald Duck." This needs no comma, for sure!
