Are the following sentences acceptable?

(1) As soon as I saw him in the office, I recognized him and shouted his name “Michael” with excitement.

(2) He was also cheerfully to call my name "Ted".

The first one is fine.

The second doesn't quite work. You could say,
He proceeded cheerfully to call my name, "Ted."
He was cheerful when he called my name, "Ted."
