Reclaim

All is not bleak. The government has undertaken a project to reclaim 600 kilometers of land from the sea. The area of the reclaimed land will be equivalent to a medium-sized district.

As already noted, the grammar is fine.



But I find no real meaning in ' . . . reclaim 600 kilometers of land . . . '

An expression of area would be
