Reccomendations for Grammar Resources?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone have any recommendations for grammars resources(books, sites, etcs.) for me to improve my grammar. The parts that I'm struggling on are basically the whole framework for grammar as I missed nearly all years of elementary English due to being stuck in E.S.L focused solely on pronunciation for five years. Thus I missed nearly the entirely of the basics of grammar. Due to this my academic writing is very limited and riddled with grammatical errors. To put it bluntly I don't understand the reason/theory about why these word I'm typing are hopefully grammatically correct, but instead it has been "honed" into me due to repetition/observation which is why I'm typing in a quasi-formal letter style as I can only "template swap/write". I look forward to your recommendations.

Sincerely,

John Doe

My own standby, from its first appearance in 1980, has been Michael Swan's Practical English Usage . As its publishers claim to have sold over one and a half million copies world wide, and as it is still (in its 3rd edition form) on sale after 30 years, I am not alone in my admiration of the book.

Well, this is a good place to ask questions, actually.
