Somehow, I vividly recall having what felt like valuable moments to imagine death and send thoughts of love to my family and friends.

I really have no idea how to transrate the sentence above. Especialy, how does the phrase "recall having what felt like" consist of? Could you please rewrite this into more easy sentence?
