Reason of using present simple in a particular tense

(Conversation between two people)

Judy: How long have you been in Miami?

Elaine: I have only been here for a couple of weeks.

Judy: How long do you plan on staying?

I would like to ask why Judy asked in present simple?

Why not present perfect continuous or present perfect simple or even present continuous?

Thanks in advance. Emotion: smile
