Which is correct please?
The movie is shot like that so that the spectator think the character is going home [when really/in reality] he's going to his friends,

I think actually works better here and I think the idea sounds better this way: The movie is shot in that way to make the spectator think that the character is going home when he's actually going to his friends.... You have not completed the sentence.
