really hard riddle

You are going down the street and you see a fork in the road. You are not sure which is the right way to go, so you ask a person near you. You don't know if he might always lie or might always tell the truth, and you can only ask one question. What is a question that would make him tell you the right direction even if he's lying?

i'm not sure about if there is one person but if there are two people the questions would be 'if you were the other guy, where would you tell me to go?' and then the correct path is the opposite of what he/she says.

guys a lie is always a lier the more logical answer is u ask anyone of them to go and ask the other guy where is the right direction and watever he tells ull go to the opposite direction...coz if hes liing at list u know its a guarantied lie... hope ull get what i mean... keep smiling

I'm just really tired right now. pretends to fall asleep " Now he wouldn't want to go down the wrong street himself, would he? So then you'd just secretly follow him to town. Pay him back for whatever you told
