Really

1-They really are kind people.
2-They are really kind people.

3-They really are kind.

4-They are really kind.

In which case:
a-"really" means "very"
and in which
case
b-"really" means "in reality"

It seems to me that technically
"1" and "3" correspond to "a".

"4" corresponds to "b".

And "3" is ambiguous.

But in normal usage are "1", "2" and "3" also not at times used to mean "b"?
