REALIZED

Hi,

I realized that what follows the phrases like "I thought", "I felt", "I was sure", and possibly "I was aware" needed to be followed with a past-tense reference. Does "I realized" fit in that group of phrases too?

I realized he was the author of the book called XXX.

Hi, Since I wasn't getting a quick response, I did some reseach on my own and seem to have arrived at the conclusion that the phrase "I realized" is different from "I thought" in that the sentence that carries the eternal truth element need not be inflected. Thus, this should be like this, in my opinion: I realized he is the author of the book called ***. Then, how about if the sentence has an element that is yet to be fulfilled like: I realized there will be a pay hike for these guys soon.
