readout or read out.

Hi there!

Should I write "read out" or "readout" in the following sentences:
Calorimeter is readout by XXX.
Each tower is readout by means of fibers.

I think that since "readout" is a verb here, it should read "read out" but not "readout", which is a noun. Am I right, and is it possible at all to write "readout" in such a context? Thanks a lot! (The text is scientific).
