Grammar

reading novels to learn English

good day all......

I want to develop my English language more and learn more vocabulary, I decided to read novels and stories and some times grammar books..
But what I want to know:
Some novels i have are from 1970s or books from 1960s of the previous century, to develop my English, learn more vocabulary , learn wording and get used to tenses.

Does Reading new books or old books make a difference?
Do I have to buy new novels and books?

Do I get benefit from reading those old books ? like (David Copperfield)
Reading those books is useful to me and I achieve what i want ?

How do you think of my English? What is your opinion?

Thanks in advance
