Cam 13 - Test 1- Reading Passage 3:

Human beings are the only species to perform sophisticated creative arts regularly. If we can break this process down into computer code, where does that leave human creativity? "This a question at the very core of humanity" says Mr Geraint. "It scares a lot of people. They are worried that it is taking something special away from what it means to be human."

So the question is: According to Mr Geraint, why are people worried by computer art?

It undermines a fundamental human quality ( a correct answer)

It will lead to a deterioration in human ability.

I wonder what is the different meaning between these two choices? I mean both "undermine" and "deterioration" mean decrease right? I'm confused

nhung 312It will lead to a deterioration in human ability.

This means that human ability will become weaker or poorer. The text doesn't actually say that this will happen. It just says that computers may equal (or I suppose surpass) humans in creative ability.
