Hi,

what is the meaning of "reading entrails" and "Tarot cards" in this text?

The doctor asserted that the T cell tests led him to believe that Ann Anderson was "a sick lady," at risk of developing serious illness in the future. In a voice heavy with sarcasm. the lawyer said, "That's sort of like reading entrails, isn't it?
