Reading dates

I'd like to ask how do you read dates like:

1066 ---ten sixty six or one thousand sixty six?
1000 a thousand or ten hundred?
1700? seventeen hundred?

these are just guesses, please help me out here I'm reeeeally lost and about to take my history exam:)
