read sentence online, is it correct?

I read this 2 sentences online, are they grammatical?

Is 'prove to be worth it' correct?

We were intrigued, 100k is a lot of wedge, so would the packs prove to be worth it?

Is this sentence grammatical?
Its a lottery ticket with the chances of getting something good being very low.

We were intrigued, 100k is a lot of wedge, so would the packs prove to be worth it? This is incorrectly punctuated, being a comma splice (first comma). The easiest fix is to start a new sentence at "100k".
