Read Catcher in the Rye to learn English

00 I am reading the English novel written by J.D Salinger The catcher in the 00 for improving my English skill. This used to be one of my favorite novel when I was around 18, but I only read the Chinese translation at that time for quite a many times. 02 br

00 I’ve never read any original English literature before this one, and I have lots of problems with my English, like I can’t make a sentence very quickly, I need to think a while to organize the structure and wording, this also effects my oral English. So I want to take this novel as a chance to get myself be familiar with English language, that’s the novel I like, I can read it easily and enjoyably. It would be difficult if I read some other literature which is also outstanding in English language but I don’t have any feeling at all. So I’ve decided to read The Catcher in the 00 and maybe recite the whole novel. 02 br

00 Now I got a problem, there are lots of foul languages in this novel and the expression is a little bit vulgar, will I speak like Holden does after reading up the novel? My English is not that good so I am not able to select which word to use or which expression to use when I speak, I can only speak naturally with what I have in my brain. I have a worry that I would come out with lots of dirty words without controlling my mouth, I really don’t want to look like a coarse person when I speak English, lol…… 02 br

0 I do not believe that your English competence is completely dependent on that one book. I mean if you regard this book as your bible in English then it might happen that you use bad expressions. Read some more books after that one, look up words you do not understand...

0 I do not believe that your English competence is completely dependent on that one book. I mean if you regard this book as your bible in English then it might happen that you use bad expressions. Read some more books after that one, look up words you do not understand... You will see that your English develops into a good direction.... 0-

0 01 b 01 font 00 While reading 01 i 00 Catcher 02 i 00 , you might make a list of the vulgar words and expressions so that you will remember not to use them in polite conversation yourself. Salinger isn't the only author to put bad language in the mouths of his characters. 02 font 02 b 00 0-

I think reading books is a good way to learn a language but Catcher in the Rye is maybe a little tricky for learning the English language because of the author use lot of diferent term for one word and he use many vulgar words.
But if you want expressly this book I recommend to search an audiobooks of this book and listen it too just about the pronounce. Maybe this
