Reach Vs. Get to !

Hi guys,

This is not a grammar question. It is more about correct sentence structure or correct spoken English.

Is it correct to ask:

When did you reach the university today?

Or

When did you get to the university today?

Or

If both ways do not sound correct, what would you suggest?

What is the difference between reach and get to? Where can I use reach or get to?

Thanks,
