How can you write this sentence in another way:
Mesopotamia was surrounded by two rivers while Greece was surrounded by seas. .Greece had many islands and it was a peninsula, but Mesopotamia had no islands and wasn't a peninsula.

I most respectfully suggest that you NOT say that a land is "surrounded" by rivers.

I checked the Web, and I discovered that the name "Mesopotamia" comes from the Greek language and means "The Land Between the Rivers."
