Can you tell me, is it proper to use an apostrophe in this sentence?
Suzi's going to the store.

Well, yes, but it depends what you mean by proper. If you write that in a forum it's fine. If you write that in a formal document that will be read by the President of Something, maybe replacing that contraction with "is", not contracted, would be better.

This is Suzi's desk ----possesive, apostrophe

Suzi's always late = Suzi is always late. The verb to be "is" is the abbreviation.

But I recommend "Suzi is going to the store", not "Suzi's..."
