Thank you. But as you/we know, the word "rather" has also other meanings, such as, very and quite. How you could recognize the meaning of rather here is the somewhat/a bit please?

It's a word that is very much dependent on the context in which it is used, The meanings I suggested were vague because we had no context.

Consider.
If you told me "Our friend Tom is rather sick', I would probably ask you 'How sick is he?' in order to clarify the situation.
