Are Some People Born Gay?

Throughout history, a strong debate has raged. Right along with this argument comes many years of hurt, confusion, and fighting. Are people born gay? This topic is not one that is easily discussed, solely because many become easily offended when opinions are given. Although it is okay to be opinionated, it is each person's responsibility to remain civil in any debate through which feelings could be hurt or people may be offended.
To begin, one should study reasons why it is believed that people are born with sexual preferences. It is said that homosexuals are born with certain genes that cause them to be gay or that parts of their brains are smaller than heterosexual individuals. Supporters of such argue that if this is true, it is a prejudice to discriminate against homosexuals. This of course, would be very similar to prejudices against races. Gay people argue that they are often mistreated because society in general is un-accepting of anyone who does not fit into a particular standard of normal.
Further, a person must review the opposing side of the issue.
