Ranger, forester, gamekeeper

Hi,

Could someone please comment on these terms?

Are all of them common nowadays?

A forester is supposed to take care of trees in a forest (but not of the game there)?

And vice versa, gamekeeper is only "in charge of" the game in his area/forest, and not responsible for the trees and other "vegetation" there?

A (park) ranger's work is to fight with poachers ( or with "naughty" part visitors who dont behave? :-)

I'd say those are generally accurate. Nowadays, foresters work for logging companies, I think, and the gamekeepers disappeared along with the great private estates. Much of a park ranger's job is more banal: nature interpretation and keeping on the lookout for fires.
