Hi,
1) "The doctor ramped up his patient's contrast water therapy." I was watching a film where patients at a mental hospital were subjected to hot and cold immersion therapy. One of the doctors suggested that a particular patient should be given it more often. Could then 'ramp up' be used?
2) How could 'set the backdrop for' be used? Does it basically mean 'to give background information about'?
What about this sentence?
"The book sets the backdrop for the development of tribes."
Thank you.
"Ramp up" is good. It might also mean to increase the intensity of something. Your idea of backdrop is correct.
