Raise/increase

1/ Please correct these 2 sentences:

a/ In how many months will Alex's salary be raised?

b/ In how many months will Alex's salary be increased?

2/ In this case, are raise and increase interchangeable? If not, what is the difference in meaning between them?

In U.S. usage, you talk about getting "a raise" which is an increase in your salary, but it's not at all common to hear that his salary will be raised. In other words, here, raise is far more commonly a noun and increase is the corresponding verb, when talking about salary.
