Raised A Christian

"He was raised Christian."
"He was raised a Christian."
"He was raised Baptist."
"He was raised a Baptist."

Could it be that some are nonstandard English?

Hi, No, but I would say the form with 'a' is the more common of the two. But the most common would be 'He was raised as a Christian'.. Clive
