raise aspirations too high ?

Hi, teachers,

I don't understand the following sentence, especially the phrase in bold type:

We raised aspirations too high within DNF Vietnam.

Thanks in advance

Hi Tuongvan The sentence is a bit odd. The verb 'raise' basically means 'cause something to increase or go up' An 'aspiration' is something that a person hopes to achieve. The boldface part of the sentence seems to mean that we 'caused (other) people to hope for too much'.
