Radio stations, settings

Hi,

1) "The language settings in Microsoft Word are set to German. You should probably change them to English."

Would you have a problem with the word 'settings' being in the same sentence as 'set'? I heard a native speaker say something along the lines of this: "They didn't set privacy settings on their photographs." That's why I thought that it was okay to use 'settings' and 'set' in one sentence.

What do you think?

2) When you switch between radio stations, do you have a special word for it? For instance, when I switch from one TV channel to another, I say that I 'flip through the channels'.

Thank you.
