The pilot complained that radar malfunctioned for a few hours during conditions of low temperatures due to a fuel shortage. However, he was able to recover the signal once the petrol was refilled. The stewardesses were talking about a trip around the world. Does this sentence make sense?

As I'm not familiar with flying, I cannot offer a content matter edit. but reading on, a fuel shortage could not cause that. Now a fuel shortage, to me, implies a paucity in the general supply of fuel, which I assume is not what you are referring to.
