"We have been operating -as an entity- since 1998 but...'

We have been operating as an entity since 1998 but our Directory of Not for Profits organisations, distributed annually across Australia, has been in existence since 1989.

I wonder what 'as an entity' implies here? Would the sentence have the same meaing if I crossed out 'as an entity' ?

Thank you Emotion: smile

Best wishes,

PBF

' As an entity ' means in its (current) formally organized (and probably, 'legally registered') form. Between 1989 and 1998, it was an informal or a different organization.
