"WASH" vs "LAUNDRY"

Dear Teachers,1. " I often do the laundry in the morning" means "I have my clothes washed by the washing machine", right? and "I often wash my clothes in the morning" means "I wash my clothes by hands", right?2. What's the difference between "how's the weather?" and "what's the weather like?"?3. "can opener" is used to open can only, right? how about "beer" and "wine"?Thanks a bunch to Teachers, Stevenukd.

You don't just twist the top off? That's how I open the wine bottle in my kitchen! (Okay, I use it for cooking only. I promise. No drinking from the *****-top wine bottles!)

Anyway, back to the original question, I would agree that "doing the laundry" implies you are using a machine. But I don't agree that by saying "I have to wash that," I'm saying I will wash it by hand.
