"to seek out everything strange which might be instructive"?

It was from Aristotle that Alexander learned to seek out everything strange which might be instructive.

Does this sentence suggest Alexander was curious about and respected strange things;and was indefatigably seeking them out? I don't think it's very reasonable or intelligent. or perphaps I have misread it. Please advise.

The meaning of seek out I checked out is "to look for someone or something, especially for a long time until you find them". (Any other meanings of this pharse?)

Thanks a lot!

It was from Aristotle that Alexander learned to seek out everything strange which might be instructive = Aristotle taught Alexander to look for new and unusual things that might teach him something about the world. Your interpretation is correct, but too extreme. When he saw something new to his experience, Alexander, as he had learned from Aristotle, explored its possiblities for the knowledge it might offer.

Thank you Mister Micawber.[Y] [C]

The extreme interpretation of mine was caused by the words "everything" and "might"
