"The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak"

how to understand it?I know it's from Bible, but how do people use it in their daily life?

What's it supposed to mean?

It's not easy to explain, I'll try with a very stupid example: I'm always trying to follow my slimming diet, but everyday my friends offer to me chocolate and sweets, I try to resist temptation to eat them but I can't because my mind is willing, but the flesh is weak! it's a very very stupid example

I think it is usually that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Same meaning.
