"so large enough" ?? And usage of that
Any one please guide me..
In 1996 Economy of Indonesia gew so large enough that it equals that of Germany.
Isn't "so large enough" awkward ? I think "large enough" serves the purpose..
Which of the following are correct...Please let me know what are the correct answers, even if they are awkward construction...

I think the expressions "so large enough as to .." and "so large enough that" are redundant. I would say one of the three below.
(1) In 1996, the economy of Indonesia grew so large that it equaled that of Germany.
(2) In 1996, the economy of Indonesia grew as large as (to equal) that of Germany.

It sounds awkward. It has grown so much that it equals..... sounds better in my opinion. Enough denotes a minimum where there is more (as opposed to "exactly"), and equals means "exactly" in this context. So, there is a bit of a contradiction in saying enough and equal about the same thing.
