"scream", "miss", "crash" and "shatter" are all happening at the same time?

Teachers, I have troble understanding which verb is first and which one is last with the following sentence:

"She screamed as the glass narrowly missed the side of Whitney's head and crashed against the wall, shattering into a million tiny fragments."

"scream", "miss", "crash" and "shatter" are all happening at the same time? Or is there some order with these verbs?

I have the same question with another similar sentence below:

"Ariel raced from the room into the front hall, shouting more angry words as she opened the door and slammed it shut after her."

" try to realize what the logical sequence of events might have been: the glass first narrowly missed the side of Whitney's head then the glass crashed against the wall then the glass shattered into a million tiny fragments we can't be sure when she screamed during this, most probably at the end, or perhaps during the whole sequence of events

My opinion is the the first example represents simultaneous actions. Only a slow-motion camera-shot would break it down into a sequential event.

With the second example, Ariel cannot run down the hall, open, then slam, a door all at the same instant. She can't even open and slam a door in the same instant because she has to move through the doorway first. She first runs down the front h
