Would it mean the same? To me, you have this backward. The question is, is round the clock, clearly ungrammatical, valid in lieu of around the clock.

What is ungrammatical about round the clock? 'Round' can be used as a preposition meaning the same as 'around'. This quote is from Webster's Dictionary:

"It happened round noon."
