"Rosa suggested he wore/wear a suit and tie when he went for the interview"
"Rosa suggested he wore/wear a suit and tie when he went for the interview".
I have been berated by some Americans about my contention that "wore" in the above example is "acceptable" English. Is this a BE/AE difference or is "wore" always incorrect there? To me either is acceptable, and "wore" even preferable in some circumstances.

How about when one is wirting in reported speech, as in recording the notes of a meeting?
Would you then wirte "The chairperson suggested that the committee liaised with relevent organisations...." or should the present tense "liaise" be used as it was a proposal from the chairperson?

Much as I hate the verb "liase" if the chairperson is making this suggest as a future action, then it's liase.
