"Paradise Lost"

I went through

The book that I borrowed

from a friend

long time ago.

I saw a letter

hidden between pages

one hundred and three

and one hundred and four.

It was a love letter

from my friend to her lover

asking him to come get her

before she gets married off

to the boy next door;

who tricked her father

to give consent

when he was totally drunk .

I remember the day

she was buried in the St.Peters.

All present there

were full of questions

that only I have

the answers to, now.

A paradise lost in another

"Paradise lost", for words unsaid.

I wish I can read that letter because it would be like reading the background of your poem, an excellent one.If you were a female then you are really strong for not letting the cat out.Don't laugh at me , I usually live the poem.

Thanks Maj and the sweet desert for reading and commenting.

Well, I thought the idea was evident and I think I'm mistaken. The contents of the letter are given in brief in the poem and the reason for her death is hinted at in the last line ('words unsaid').As her letter didn't reach her lover and she was forced to marry someone, she committed suicide.

Anita, thanks dear for your explanation , now I got your point.I'm a Saudi female and I have been studying English for many years.I compose some poems, not so good as yours, but anyway I'm trying which is good.If you don't mind , would you please read my poem titled ,Bunny.I had posted it long ago but no body said a word .I'd appreciate your reading of my humble poem.
