"Last but not least" - a cliche?

0Hi,02br

00It seems that I've only ever heard "Last but not least" from my colleagues who're not native English speakers. So, I'm just wondering whether it's actually a cliche & will sound rather unnatural even in writing. Could someone help me with this ?02br

0It is a cliche often used by native AmE speakers. It would sound OK in writing.0-

00If you are interested in these kinds of sayings, and want to freshen them up a little, why don't you try to find a way to put a spin on them? eg you could say, 01font00Last and least . . . .02font02br

10Some speakers make a little humorous face when they say it, which means "I know it's a cliché, but I'm using it ironically." They should be horsewhipped.12br
