"...Joe Pearson made an indelible impression on it."

Hi all,

In his twenty years working for the company, Joe Pearson made an indelible impression on it.

Does this sentence mean that Joe Pearson have a strong opinion about the company or is it the other way round?

Thank you.

Best wishes,

PBF
