"it" replacement

If a situation presents opportunities but points more toward your weaknesses, you can do several things, including generating actions to exploit those opportunities by overcoming your weaknesses and turning them into strengths. For example, you might have a customer tell you that it likes the features of your products, and that it would purchase more products from you if you switched to a slightly different technology.

Is the usage of "it" in bold ok here? Should it be replaced by "he/she" or "they"? Please advise.

You can never use 'it' for a person-- use he/she or he or s/he or change the sentence to read, 'you might have customers tell you that they...'.
