"Is born" or "was born"

I've read an article about astronomy entitled "How is a star born?" and I wonder if it is only because it is a general fact, not a precise event in past. Can somebody answer me?

Hi,

Yes.

Compare 'How is a baby born?' to 'How was this baby born?'

If you say "How is the Sun born?", it sounds a bit weird. But "How is a star born?" sounds quite natural. It is because that, according to the current knowledge of astronomy, many stars are dying and many stars being newly born every year in this vast universe.
