Quoting + MLA Format
Hello, I'm just wondering about a few grammar things. I'm writing an essay that is supposed to be in MLA format. I don't know if that even makes a difference though. I'm unsure of the punctuation after the red. Also, can you explain why the punctuation I used is wrong?
When "Cordoba. / Distant. Alone." (15-16) is repeated in the last two lines it has more of a resemblance to "The goblets of dawn / are smashed." (3-4), because by this point in the poem I assume the reader will better understand Cordoba's importance.
Light is immediately enveloped in darkness near the beginning of "The Guitar": "The goblets of dawn / are smashed." (3-4). This is similar to lines 3 and 8 in "The Rider's Song": "Black my pony, full the moon," (3), and in the next stanza, "Black my pony, red the moon." (8).
In "The Rider's Song"(comma here?) there is another line that shares a similarity to this idea: "Cordoba. / Distant. Alone." (1-2).
