"in motion"

My friend's name is Poetry.

One day, someone told her that "Poetry in motion".

She is confused and ask me for the meaning.

So I look up all my dictionaries but still don't understand.

Can anyone tell me what is the meaning of "Poetry in motion"?

It's a phrase that means that she is being compared to a live version of poetry - beautiful, artistic, with meaning, something to be admired etc. It is a complement.

Bobby Vee had a song called 'Poetry in Motion' and it crops up in other song lyrics as well.
